The Sentinel (2006)
In this novel, a man accused of conspiring against the leader of the free and independent world. Michael Douglas portrays Pete Garrison, a former Secret Service agent with a distinguished career protecting the President of the United States. David Breckinridge, Kiefer Sutherland), is another Secret Service agent. He learned most of his knowledge from Garrison. Garrison begins an investigation into the Secret Service to find out if there’s a mole in the organization that is plotting to kill President Ballentine (David Rasche). Breckinridge is asked to examine the evidence using a fine-tooth comb. Breckinridge finds it shocking that Garrison is the traitor in the Secret Service. However, his duty drives him to find his mentor being held under arrest. Garrison escapes from his captors, and attempts to prove his innocence. He also tracks down his conspirator while evading his former colleagues. Garrison is being sought by Breckinridge, while another agent of rank, Jill Marin (Eva Longoria), plays the devil’s advocate. She believes Garrison can’t be the one in charge.
