The Patriot (2000)
In colonial South Carolina, it is 1776. Benjamin Martin is a French-Indian war veteran who has been haunted from his past. He wants to be able to settle down on his little plantation and not have to fight the greatest nation in the world: Great Britain. His two oldest sons, Thomas and Gabriel, are eager to join the “Continental Army” that has just been formed. Gabriel signs up immediately to fight when South Carolina joins the rebellion against England. Tragic events occur when the British Dragoon Colonel William Tavington arrives and sets fire to the Martin Plantation. Benjamin soon finds himself in a dilemma between his family’s safety and wanting revenge. He also wants to be part of the creation of an ambitious, young nation. Caleb Conser
