Conor, who is currently facing professional and emotional problems of his own, believes his life was clearer when he was together with El. Conor believes he was following in the footsteps of Spencer Ludlow, his father’s professional path. However, Conor doesn’t like to think he has any similar temperament as his father. He is currently on his third marriage which ended in failure. Conor is trying to find El but he has to also deal with the downfall of his restaurant. He opened it in part through a cooperative agreement with Stuart, who was a friend and classically-trained chef, although he doesn’t take cooking seriously. Conor must also deal with logistics, including what to do about Cody’s possessions. Conor could fall for other women in his solitude, even though he still loves El.
