Rushmore

Max Fischer, 15, is an impulsive, precocious teenager whose only source of income is Rushmore. He attends Rushmore because he isn’t doing well in his classes but is the master of all extracurricular activities. From writing plays and being in beekeeping societies, to producing plays and other creative projects, there is very little he doesn’t do after school. When he discovers he is on academic probation and falls in love with Miss Cross (a beautiful teacher at Rushmore’s elementary school), his life changes. His friendship with Herman Blume (a wealthy industrialist who is also a father of the boys at the school) adds to the drama. He finds love to Miss Cross as well. Max’s destiny is tied to the odd love triangle. The film tells the story of Max and his efforts at resolving the issue. –Gary Dickerson
