Tatiana, a Russian teenager, arrives in London bleeding. The doctors are able to save Tatiana’s baby. Anna Khitrova, a Russian descent midwife finds Tatiana’s Russian-language diary in her possessions. She decides to search for her family and deliver Tatiana. Stepan declines to help, but Anna discovers a card from a Russian restaurant in the diary. She visits him to try to get in touch with Tatiana’s relatives. Semyon offers to translate the document when she tells him about the existence of the journal. Stepan interprets a portion of the diary, and Anna learns that Semyon had raped Tatiana at fourteen and made her work as a prostitute in their brothel. Semyon, the boss of Russian mafia Vory v Zakone, is also a danger to Anna and her family’s safety.
