Thor: The Dark World

A race known as Dark Elves attempted to destroy the universe thousands of years ago using an Aether weapon. They were stopped by Asgard warriors, but the leader Malekith (Christopher Eccleston), escaped and waited for another chance. They find the Aether and hide it. Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), awaiting Thor’s return (Chris Hemsworth) is the current day. It has been nearly two years since their last meeting. Thor, in the interim, has tried to restore peace to all nine realms. Jane finds an anomaly that is similar to what brought Thor to Earth. Jane investigates and finds a wormhole. She is then engulfed into the wormhole. Thor, back on Asgard, wants to go home to Earth but Odin, his father (Sir Anthony Hopkins), won’t let him. Thor is informed by Heimdall (IdrisElba), who has the ability to see into every realm, about Jane’s disappearance. Thor returns to Earth, just like Jane appears. Unknown energy repels some policemen who attempt to arrest Jane. Thor brings Jane to Asgard in order to discover what has happened. They discover, when the energy is again released, that Jane vanished and she had crossed paths with Aether, which in turn entered her. Malekith senses that it is time to strike and seeks the Aether. Asgard is attacked and Thor’s mother Frigga, Rene Russo, is killed to protect Jane. Odin wishes to protect Jane so Malekith can come. Thor is not happy with this plan and decides that he will take Jane with him. Loki, his brother (Tom Hiddleston), helps him. It is not known what Loki was thinking. –[email protected]
