The Post

American military analyst Daniel Ellsberg discovers with disgust that the US government is lying about the futility and cost of Vietnam War. He copies top-secret documents which would later become the Pentagon Papers. Kay Graham, the owner of Washington Post, struggles to adjust to her husband’s death. Then editor Ben Bradlee uncovers that New York Times had uncovered explosive details about those papers. Post journalists find Ellsberg and an entire copy of the papers, determined to win. The Post is unable to publish its findings due to a Federal Restraining Order that could lead them all being indicted on Contempt. Kay Graham now has to decide whether she will back down in order for the paper’s safety or fight for the Freedom of the Press. Graham’s staff and she join forces in a battle that will keep America’s democratic ideals at the forefront. –Kenneth Chisholm ([email protected])
