The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall
Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera was first performed on the West End stage of Her Majesty’s Theatre’s West End in 1986. Twenty-five years later, Phantom is a global hit, with millions of viewers and an adaptation film in 2004. A musical sequel was also made. This incredible show is now available to viewers from the comfort of their homes. This spectacular performance was filmed at the Royal Albert Hall. It celebrates the show’s role as the greatest theatre show in history and features speeches, performances, and appearances from the original cast, and several of the most famous Phantoms such John Owen Jones and Colm Wilkinson. Phantom stars Ramin Karimloo, Sierra Boggess and tells the tale of a musical genius with deformities who lives in Paris Opera House’s catacombs. The Phantom is a man who has been shunned and seeks revenge through cruel, often violent acts. Phantom has fallen in love with Christine Daae, a chorus girl. He secretly trains her to be La Carlotta’s reigning diva. Christine finds herself in the limelight and is reunited with Raoul, her childhood friend.
