The Little Stranger

THE LITTLE STRANGER is the story of Dr. Faraday who was the son of a domestic maid and has achieved quiet respectability in his role as country doctor. He is summoned to Hundreds Hall in 1948 for a long, hot summer. His mother was a former employee. For more than 200 years, the Hall was home to Ayres’ family. It is in decline now and the Ayres family – father, mother and daughter – are haunted not only by a declining way of living but also by something worse. Faraday doesn’t know how deeply and disturbingly the story of his family will become interwoven with his own when he accepts his patient. Focus Features
