The Intouchables
Philippe, an intellectual and aristocratic Parisian, is interviewing potential candidates for his position as carer. He is joined by Magalie, his red-haired secretary. Driss brings in a Social Security document and cuts through the list of applicants. He asks Phillipe for his signature to show that he’s looking for a job so he can get unemployment benefits. Philippe offers Driss a one-month trial to help him gain work experience. Driss decides whether or not he wants to remain with Philippe. Driss takes up the challenge, and moves into the mansion. This changes Phillipe’s boring existence and the lives of his workers. –Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
