Don’t Look Up
Kate Dibiasky (Jennifer Lawrence), an Astronomy graduate student and Dr. Randall Mindy, (Leonardo DiCaprio), make an amazing discovery about a comet that orbits within the solar system. It’s in direct collision with Earth. Another problem is? The other problem? No one seems to really care. It turns out that warning the world about a deadly planet-killer as large and dangerous as Mount Everest can be difficult. Randall and Kate embark on a media trip with Dr. Oglethorpe, Rob Morgan, that will take them to the offices of President Orlean (Meryl Steep), and Jason, her inept son and Chief Of Staff. They’ll also be broadcasting from The Daily Rip (a morning program hosted by Jack Perry and Brie Blanchett). It’s only six months before the comet hits, so managing the 24 hour news cycle and getting the attention of social media-obsessed public is a daunting task. –Netflix
