Shaquille, a senior at high school who is a great name and deserves to be appreciated in The High-Schooler’s Guide to College Parties. Shaq was raised by a laid back father and raised below the radar in middle class family. Shaq desperately wants to rise in social class. Shaq is sick of being an average person and “loser”, tired of being categorized as a geek, misfit, outcast, rebel, or whatever that meant to him in high school. This life is no longer romantic. Reality has taken over. But is “the system” ready for him? He feels it’s now time for a shift and believes that getting into the right college, with the right people, is the way to go. He has never had the opportunity to make connections or have any money in his life. He is the son of a hardworking man. Shaq fears that he will be like his father. Shaq is afraid of ending up like him because he has poor grades and no money. However, he feels that he will be able to get into the college he desires. His best chance of getting in to the college and community he dreams about is with his cousin Brett, who he married. Brett was the most successful member of the family. He is smart, popular and athletic. Brett also serves on the scholarship committee at the private university where he studies. Shaq is not a fan of Brett and they never get along. Shaq believes that Brett will be more likely to get into university or his fraternity if he impresses him by hosting a great party. Shaq must decide if he should sell his friends in order to please Brett or keep his integrity. Sometimes, the easiest way may not be the best. My Johnson
