The Good Lie

After their village was destroyed in the Second Sudanese Civil War, four children from Sudan are left orphaned. They trek across the plains and endure hardship, death, and even sacrifice until reaching safety at a Kenyan refugee camp. These youths were among the 3600 chosen for American resettlement. However, the girl was sent to Boston while the boys had to start a new life in Kansas City. These young men have to adjust to a foreign culture together, even though the emotional scars from their past haunt them. These newcomers and Carrie Davis, their employment counselor, work together to make friends in their new environment. This is a difficult challenge for them all. –Kenneth Chisholm ([email protected])
