The Golden Compass
For a girl of her age, it was not a normal life. She lived amongst scholars at Jordan College while sauntering through Oxford’s streets in search for adventure. Lyra would have her greatest adventure closer at home when she first heard about an unusual particle. The magical dust, which was microscopic in size and discovered in vast Arctic regions of North America, is believed to have profound properties that can unite entire universes. However, there were some who hated the particle and wanted to kill it. Lyra found herself thrust into the middle of an awful struggle and was forced to call on clans, ‘gyptians, or formidable armored bears for help. As she travelled into incredible danger, Lyra didn’t know that she was the only one who would win or lose this battle.
