The Forgotten Battle
September 1944. Although the Allies captured Antwerp’s port, the Germans hold the Scheldt estuary. This prevents supplies from reaching Antwerp or the Allied forces. Walcheren Island plays a key role in the German defense. Operation Market Garden, which aims to directly enter Germany through Arnhem in Holland, is launched. The British forces are left behind by a few British soldiers when a glider belonging to this operation crashes on Walcheren. A Dutch teenage accidentally kills three Germans. This sets off a chain reaction of tragic events. A Dutch soldier is on the German staff and begins to wonder where his loyalty lies. –grantss
