Still Mine

Craig Morrison and Irene Morrison are beginning to see a shift in their lives after years of stability. They are no longer able make a living on their farm in New Brunswick’s coastal region due to changing regulations and times. Irene is now showing signs of dementia. Craig, the son and great-grandson of a shipbuilder and heirloomer, plans to cut lumber from the trees and build Irene a smaller, one-story house. Although he has a basic design of the project in mind when he starts, friends encourage him to complete the building permit process and other similar regulatory steps. Craig is able to finish the project but it’s not up to his standards. He runs into roadblocks in the regulatory process that could endanger this project and Irene’s final years. –Huggo
