Darrel and Sydney met in the midst of low-budget independent filmmaking. They became close, and they began to respect and admire each other as producers under extreme pressure. Their romance didn’t blossom, and they both moved on to their own lives after the shoot. The film’s premiere marks the 2nd year of post-production. They meet up again. After a night out, Sydney and Darrel meet up in high spirits with the crew and cast present to praise and applaud their work. They’ve shared their professional successes and failed, had their flings, and had many romances. But they always keep each other as the one who got away, their magical other. Things are now different.
