Sex and Lucía

Lucia, a Madrid-based waitress, lives and works there. She flees from what she thinks is the death of her boyfriend, Lorenzo the tortured writer, to seek refuge on an isolated island where he often spoke to her. She meets Carlos and Elena who also fled to escape personal tragedies. They all have an uncanny connection to Lorenzo, unbeknownst to each other. Elena first met Lorenzo on the same island many years back and shared beautiful, unspoken love with him at the ocean’s edge by the full moon. Nine months later, Elena had Luna and never found Lorenzo. Carlos, Belen’s stepfather, disappeared when she accidentally caused Luna’s death. Lucia recalls the story Lorenzo wrote about her new housemates’ pasts. It was a tale of a trip into the dark and deep past that led to his depression. The lines blurring the line between fiction and fact soon become more difficult. –Cervantes
