School of Rock

Dewey Finn, a guitarist who was a slacker in his band, has been kicked off the scene and is now facing a mountain debt and depression. His best friend Ned Schneebly is his substitute teacher and he shares an apartment. Dewey takes a position as substitute teacher in a private school. His witty and sarcastic attitude has a strong impact on the students. Dewey discovers that they are young talented musicians and decides to start a band together to compete for $10,000 in local contests. The prize money, which Dewey won in a contest called “Battle of the Bands”, would help him get out of debt and bring rock music back to his attention. –Steve Shedloski
