Rudderless
Sam, an ex-ad executive, is killed in a shooting at a university. He meets Kate, his son’s SO at the wake held at his ex-wife’s home. He marries Kate, and they have a son, two years later. After work, he meets his two coworkers at a bar. His past is kept secret. His ex tracked him down and got his signature for their sale of their home. She also left their son’s music items, including recording his songs. Sam takes his guitar and sings the son’s song to the open mic at the bar. Quentin becomes his first fan. He sees the potential. Quentin convinces Sam to form a group/quartet called “Rudderless” to play his songs. –Scott Filtenborg
