OmniCorp, a multinational conglomerate is the leader in robot technology. It is now 2028. Their drones are used worldwide by the military over years, which has resulted in billions of dollars for OmniCorp. OmniCorp sees a great opportunity to use their controversial technology at home. OmniCorp is excited about the opportunity to create a robot-and-man police officer. This will be possible because Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman), a father, husband and loving cop, was critically hurt in the line-of-duty. OmniCorp sees RoboCops in all cities and billions of dollars for shareholders.
