Northern Soul
“Northern Soul” is about a 1970s youth culture that changed the course of history. It tells of the rise of nightclubs in Northern England. This film tells the story of two boys who discover black American soul music and open their eyes to new possibilities. They are no longer content with a life in a small community and working as factory workers. Instead, they want to travel to America to find rare records that will enable them to become top DJs in the Northern Soul music scene. As their friendship and loyalty are stretched to the limits, the best of friends must confront violence, rivalry and drug addiction. –Anonymous
