National Lampoon’s European Vacation

The Griswolds survive the Wally World Expedition in National Lampoon’s Vacation (1983) and embark on a thrilling, stress-free, all expenses paid trip to cosmopolitan Europe courtesy of Pig in a Poke, a popular television game program. Clark Griswold and Ellen, a merry holidaymaker and his teenage children Rusty and Audrey, are in a race against time to visit as many places as possible in London and Paris. Disaster follows again, with British driving incomprehensibles, unacceptable fashion crimes in Paris, the City of Lights and a difficult language barrier in Bavarian villages, all of which are not to be tolerated. A brush with Rome’s law is also in danger. Will the Griswolds make it through the European Vacation? –Nick Riganas
