It’s a Wonderful Life
George Bailey spent most of his life serving Bedford Falls. Although he has long wanted to travel, he never got the chance to do so to stop rich skinflint Mr. Potter taking over entire Bedford Falls. George’s small loan and building company that his father founded is all that stops him from doing this. George’s uncle Billy, however, loses his $8,000 business while he plans to deposit the money in the bank on Christmas Eve. Potter discovers the money missing and hides it from Billy. George discovers later that the money was missing and is sent to prison. The company will then collapse and he will eventually be charged with the crime. He contemplates killing himself, thinking of his family, including their children and other people he cares about. The prayers of his family and friends result in Clarence, a gentle angel who comes to Earth to assist George. He promises to earn his wings. George is shown by Clarence what it would be like to have never been born. –alfiehitchie
