Imaginaerum
Imaginaerum is the tale of Tom, an elderly composer who has severe dementia. He has lost all of his memories from adulthood, even though he’s had it for many years. In his fragile brain, he has lost all of his memories, including his music and friends. He also can’t remember his childhood, his family, or even his child. He is left with the imagination of a 10-year-old boy. It seems impossible for him to recover what he lost as he falls into a coma. Is it possible? It’s a trip between two dimensions. Tom explores his imagination in search of answers, memories and connections, while Gem, his daughter, attempts to reclaim the relationship she once had with her father. Gem feels that their project is doomed to fail as they become increasingly distant over the years and there are even more obstacles between them, Tom in a coma and Gem dying. Gem finds the way to her father’s grave secrets through Tom. Before we enter the world of Imaginaerum, there are some things that we need to ask. Which is the most important thing in your life? Are memories able to protect us in our final moments? Can our imagination bring us the light of hope in times when we are most lost? Is it possible to find true love even after bitter forgiveness?
