Identity

Malcolm Rivers was convicted of multiple murders. He is now facing death row. After an eleventh hour defense from his attorneys and his psychiatrist, Malcolm was found to be insane on the basis of new evidence. They met with the judge and prosecutors to discuss the possibility of the verdict being overturned. A series of chain reactions leads to several individuals needing shelter at a motel in a remote area. These are ex-cop Ed, now limo driver, Caroline, the diva of an once-famous actress, quiet Timmy, George his stepfather, and Alice his mother, who were seriously hurt when Ed ran over them while watching George change their flat tires. Prostitute Paris was also injured as Ed was trying to help George. Lou and Ginny’s marriage was founded on lies. Police Officer Rhodes was in route to escorting Robert to his new facility. All the roads around the motel have been washed out, so no one can get away. Communication between the outside world and the inside is also disrupted by the storm. They are all murdered one by one. The murderer leaves a calling card with a key to the motel, including a key for the 10th room. He will then work his way up, presumably until he reaches the 1st key. The remaining survivors band together, under the direction of Officer Rhodes, Ed, to discover which one of the eleven is responsible for the killings. One theory suggests that the killer brought them to the motel as his targets. Malcolm’s fate may depend on whether those who are still around can find the killer, understand why he chose to kill them and subdue him. –Huggo
