Four Good Days
Molly, an addict and a victim of abuse, arrives at Deb’s house in search of help. The already fragile relationship between mother and daughter has been ravaged by ten years of drug abuse, estrangement, and addiction. Molly, despite having been to detox nearly a dozen times so far, shows no sign of recovery. A doctor gives Molly hope by giving her a monthly dose of opioid antagonist (a powerful agent that blocks toxic substances binding to the central nervous systems). To receive this promising treatment, Molly will need to stay clean for the next four days. Is Molly able to respond to Deb’s hard love? –Nick Riganas
