Marco Montes, a Spanish basketball coach and second trainer for an important ACB team (Spanish basketball league), is an arrogant, sarcastic man. A discussion between the ACB first and second trainers leads to an accident that results in Marco being kicked out of the arena. Marco is then drunk and crashes his car into a police vehicle, causing him to be arrested. The judge orders Marco to either go to jail for two years or to complete 90 days of community service. Marco refuses to train a team of basketball players called “Los Amigos”, (The Friends). They are made up of Manuel, Paquito and Jesus with learning disabilities, Sergio and Juanma and Marin, as well as old Julio who is the director at their social center. Marco is trying to save his marriage to Sonia. Sonia has grown tired of Marco’s excuses and wants to have children. Marco then meets with the team to train them. However, problems escalate when Julio informs Marco that Los Amigos was accepted into the Paralympic National League competition. Marco is frustrated by the difficulties he faces in assembling a winning team for the Paralympic league. This causes Sonia to feel strained. Marco is astonished by the positive attitude of his team members and their genuine goodness. This makes him question not only how he lives but also the ways he interacts with others and what the truth of life looks like. Marco is able to find redemption with the help of his own Sonia and hopes to make Los Amigos the champions he has always known. –Chockys
