Cave of Forgotten Dreams
A group of scientists found a cave in Southern France that had been preserved for more than 20,000 years. It also contained the oldest known human artworks. The cultural importance of the Chauvet Cave was recognized by the French government. Only a handful archaeologists, paleontologists, and others were allowed to access it. Werner Herzog is a documentary filmmaker and has limited access to the cave. We now have the opportunity to see beautiful art created around 32,000 years by our ancestral ancestors. He poses questions to scientists and historians about the lives of these people and tries to bridge the gap between the past and the present. –napierslogs
