Captive (2015)

Brian Nichols escaped from Fulton County Courthouse, Atlanta on March 11, 2005 during his rape trial. He also kills Rowland Barnes (the judge in charge of his case) and Julie Brandau, the court reporter. He shoots Sergeant Hoyt teasley as he flees from the courthouse. Later, ICE Special Agent David G. Wilhelm is killed, while he was on-duty at Nichols’ home. A manhunt is launched across the city for Nichols. He flees in a panic to escape and ends up at Ashley Smith’s apartment, where he takes Ashley Smith hostage. Ashley Smith is a single mother who has been rehabilitated from methamphetamine addiction. Smith manages to get through this time thanks to Rick Warren’s bestseller The Purpose Driven Lifestyle, which inspires her while Nichols seeks redemption. Smith is reading aloud to her killer, and they come to an intersection.
