Los Angeles is home to humans who live alongside orcs, elves and other fantasy creatures. Dayl Ward, LAPD officer is the first to have Nick Jakoby, an orc officer in his police force as a partner. Ward is attacked by an orc, and Jakoby fails to capture him. He then questions Jakoby about letting the other orc escape. Ward and Jakoby are on patrol when Ward encounters a man who tells them that Ward has a prophecy. Internal Affairs presses Ward to discover the truth about Jakoby’s escape so they can fire him. FBI magic unit interrogates man who is part of terrorist Shield of Light, which guards brights in preparation for Dark Lord’s return that will end the world. Ward and Jakoby get summoned by the FBI to investigate a disturbance. They stumble across a Shield of Light safe house where they capture Tikka, an elf and take her magic wand. They soon learn that Tikka has been captured by Leilah, an evil and powerful Terrorist group Inferni. This is the one actually trying to revive the dark lord.
