Body of Lies
Roger Ferris, a CIA operative operating in the Middle East is Ed Hoffman. Langley is under his control. There is a lot of cynicism. Roger is in Amman working with Hani Salaam (Jordan’s security chief), whose one rule is “Don’t lie to us.” American authorities are looking for a leader of an organization that places bombs across Europe. Hani rejects Ed’s request that Jordan grant the Americans access to one of Jordan’s double agents. Roger and Ed devise a plan for the American to get the cleric. It is difficult because Hani keeps it secret and Roger’s love for a local nurse complicates the plan. Modern warfare is modernized by satellites, cell phones and bodies as well as lies and cells. —
