Blade Runner
The Nexus phase of the Tyrell Corporation’s early 20th century saw the creation of robots called “replicants” that could aid society. These replicants looked and behaved like human beings. Replicants became illegal in Earth after the Nexus 6 superhuman replicants began to mutiny at an off-Earth colony. The “blade runners” are police units that have the task of eliminating any replicant, or, in their terms, “retiring”, on Earth. Anyone convicted of helping or aiding a replicant will be sentenced to death. Los Angeles is in November 2019. Rick Deckard is a retired blade runner and has been called out of retirement. Four known replicants (most combat models) have returned to Earth. Their leader was Roy Batty. Leon Kowalski tried to get into Tyrell Corporation to become an employee but was able to flee. Deckard is determined to follow Leon’s footsteps in his quest for retirement. He also believes that he will be able to figure out the motives of the Tyrell Corporation replicants in trying infiltrate it. Tyrell may have a fail-safe backup system that could be the answer. Deckard is not only responsible for tracking these four replicants, but she also has to deal with Rachael who acts as Tyrell’s assistant. Problem is, Dr. Elden Tyrell has been testing her to give her fake memories to help her control herself. Rachael doesn’t know she isn’t human because of these memories. Rachael is helping Deckard but he’s beginning to feel for her. –Huggo
