True Grit (2010)
Mattie Ross, a 14-year old farm girl sets out to find the killer after her father was murdered by Tom Chaney. She hires Reuben J., the U.S. marshal with the most “truegrit” to help her. “Rooster” Cogburn. Mattie insists that Cogburn be accompanied, even though his drinking, ineptness, and general reprobate nature do not enhance her faith. She joins Cogburn on his journey into Indian Nations to find Chaney, despite his protests. Texas Ranger LaBoeuf joins them, wanting Chaney to serve his purposes. They encounter dangers and unexpected turns on their journey and all three are tested for their “grit”. –Jim Beaver
