Robin Hood (2010)

The birth of a legend. Robin Longstride, an archer (Russell Crowe) and Will Scarlet (Scott Grimes), Allan A’Dayle(Alan Doyle), Little John (Kevin Durand) return to England after King Richard’s (Danny Huston’s), death in France. The dying Sir Robert Loxley (Douglas Hodge) is encountered by the trio. His party was ambushed and robbed of their trust by Godfrey, Mark Strong), who wants to promote a French invasion in England. Robin assures the knight that he will give his sword back to Sir Walter Loxley, Max von Sydow in Nottingham. Sir Walter urges Robin to pretend to the deceased man in order to stop his land from being taken by the crown. He then finds himself married to Marion (Cate Blanchett), who is a well-prepared wife. Godfrey attempts to incite baronial resistance to the weak Prince John (Oscar Isaac), and allows a French takeover. He worms his ways into Prince John’s service, becoming Earl Marshal of England. Godfrey brutally invades villages under the pretense of collecting Royal taxes. Robin is able to navigate politics of traitors and barons as well as the French. –don @ minifie-1
