22 Chaser

Ben and Avery Dankert moved to Toronto because of their inheritance. Tow truck driver in bylaw, i.e. Jackrabbit Towing Services is looking for a tow truck driver in bylaw (i.e. towing illegally parked vehicles). They are struggling to provide for Zach’s needs, and their son Zach who is constantly called white trash by his classmates. Avery wants her own restaurant and Ben wants his garage. These are just jobs. Avery, despite her ability to cook, is not able to find a better job without proper culinary education. This school is out of their budget. Bissey, Ben’s nonsensical boss, creates an even worse situation. All drivers will have to lease trucks from him immediately, with the first and last months payments due. The police contract seems to be what they need in order to get out of financial trouble. Ben decides to borrow the money from Ray, a loan shark who is also a police officer. Ben and Avery, as well as Zach, are not able to receive the financial benefits of the police contract as fast as Ray requires. This puts their family’s lives at risk. Ben is a moral person and must decide whether he wants to enter the lucrative but less secure world of chasers. These are tow truck drivers that monitor police accident scene frequency. Chasers generally do not have morals. Ben finds Sean, who may have his own ulterior motives. He also sees Wayne and Elvis on the roads more frequently than Sean. Ben may not want to become a chaser, but it is possible. –Huggo
