Y Tu Mamá También

Late teens Julio Zapata and Tenoch Iturbide are in Mexico City. They are both feeling uneasy as the girls, who are now all college students, are travelling together across Europe. Tenoch and Julio are greeted by Luisa Cortes (the twenty-something bride of Tenoch’s cousin Jano), at a family wedding. The two have recently moved from Spain to Mexico. Tenoch and Julio attempt to impress Luisa with their promise to take a trip to Mexico’s most picturesque and remote beach called la Boca del Cielo. This is translated to Heaven’s Mouth, but the trip and beach don’t actually exist. Luisa hears about Jano’s marital scandal straight from the horse’s mouth and accepts Tenoch’s and Julio’s invitation to join them on their road trip. This means that Tenoch, Julio, and Julio will have to quickly put together a trip to an inaccessible beach. Their friend Saba suggests a beach, but they decide to go for it. The trip is not all smooth sailing for the trio, who embark on a journey of discovery. Luisa must decide what she will do about her immediate future, based on Jano’s news and the secret she keeps. Tenoch and Julio must also figure out the meaning of their friendship as they get older. –Huggo
