Trouble Is My Business
Los Angeles, 1947. Everything should be bright and sunny. But the fog creates an atmosphere that covers the entire body, including the brain. While Roland Drake, a private eye, cracks cases and has romances with femme fatales while corrupt cops run the streets of the city’s underworld. Moral lines are not black and white. This is a dark and hardboiled story of love, betrayal and prostitution, presented in film noir style. Drake is in trouble. Drake has been expelled from his office, and is now disgraced in the wake of a case involving missing persons. He is now in disgrace with both the police and the public. Roland Drake seems to be in the end. But then, redemption comes in with curves. Katherine Montemar, a dark-haired and sexy beauty is the owner of these curves. He is eager to help her. Their chemistry immediately develops and she pulls him in to her case, and then into her bed. He awakens to find her gone, as well as a pool blood. He is confronted with Katherine’s sister Jennifer, after a nerve-wracking encounter with Lew MacDonald. He is confronted by Katherine’s blonde sister, Jennifer. She is a gorgeous femme fatale and knows much more about the world than she does. They are drawn together by their dark descent, which leads to a search for an inexplicable gem. Drake is compelled to navigate the sinister realm of murder, lies and betrayal by Detective Tate (corrupt police). Drake may not know the difference between right and wrong in his doomed love story. This could lead to Jennifer’s death, as well as burying all mysteries. –Thomas Konkle
