The Thing (1982)
An early-winter 1982 US Antarctica research station. A helicopter carrying a Norwegian researcher station is seen suddenly buzzing the base. The helicopter is trying to capture a dog who has fled from the base. The US team flew to Norway after the Norwegian helicopter was destroyed. They found all the US members missing or dead. The remains of an alien creature that the Norwegians had burned are discovered by the Americans. They take the remains to their base, where they discover that it’s an alien form of life. It becomes apparent after a while that the alien is capable of taking over, assimilation into other forms of life, including human, and spreading like a virus. The Thing could then take over and assimilate into any living being at the base, increasing tensions. –grantss
