The Sting
Johnny Hooker is a minor grifter who unknowingly steals money from Doyle Lonnegan. He pulls off a street con. Lonnegan is furious at Hooker’s insult. Hooker runs after Luther is shot to death and seeks out Henry Gondorff who was one Luther’s close friends. He is an expert on long cons. Hooker is keen to make use of Gondorff’s knowledge to get Lonnegan for a large sum to equal the amount. He admits that he doesn’t have enough information about killing people to do so. Hooker and Gondorff devise an elaborate scheme, and then they recruit a group of con artists to share the compensation. This game has high stakes. Our heroes will have to deal not only with Lonnegan’s murderous tendencies but also the other players in the fight for their share of the action. Hooker and Gondorff need to have all of their skills…and some confidence. –headlessannie
