F.B.I. F.B.I. She plans to continue her studies at the agency’s behavioral science unit under Jack Crawford (Scott Glenn). Crawford, while she’s still training, asks Clarice to interview Dr. Hannibal Lecter, Sir Anthony Hopkins, a psychiatrist who has been held in extreme isolation since 2008 for his role as a serial killer and cannibalizer. Clarice is able find out that Lecter has been assigned to her to solve another serial killing case. This is the one of “Buffalo Bill”, a media-hyped person who was drowned in water and stripped of significant amounts of their skin. He had five victims. Crawford picked her as a woman to provoke an emotional reaction from Lecter. She realizes after speaking with Lecter, that it will all be psychological games, and she’ll often have to interpret the cryptic messages he gives. As Lecter demands that she expose her emotions to him in exchange for speaking to her, she must decide how much of the deal she is willing to accept. When a sixth victim is found, the case becomes more serious. This is because they can retrieve key evidence from him, even if Lecter doesn’t know its significance. The seventh potential victim could be Catherine Martin (Brooke Smith), a high-profile woman and the daughter of Senator Ruth Martin, (Diane Baker). This puts greater focus on the case while they try to find a still living Catherine. Anthony Heald’s Dr. Frederick Chilton, the warden of the prison, is an opportunity seeker who may be able to insert himself into the proceedings. –Huggo
