The Shining
Jack Torrance is haunted by writer’s block and a recovering alcoholic. He drags Wendy and Danny up the Overlook Hotel in Colorado after he took up an assignment as an off-season caregiver. The manager of the hotel gives Jack a tour. The chef at the Overlook Hotel, Mr Hallorann, shares a wonderful conversation with Danny about his rare psychic gift, “The Shining”. He also warns him about some hotel rooms that are not open to the public, including Room 237. Jack begins to lose his way as he struggles with the creative slump. He is trapped in an environment filled with seemingly endless snowstorms and hidden rooms that are riddled by strange visions and other unusual occurrences. Jack is now compelled to sacrifice by the voices in his head. Does Jack have the ability to murder? –Nick Riganas
