The Piano Teacher
Erika Kohut, a pianist and teacher of music. Her forte is Schubert and Schumann, though she’s still not at the concert level. Living with her mother, Erika is approaching middle-age. Erika is submissive and domineering. Erika is more victim than combative. She is strict with her students. To watch movies, she visits a sexshop. She also walks in a drive-in theatre to observe couples engaging in sex. Walter, a confident student who has some musical talent, auditions for the class and expresses his feelings of attraction to her. He responds with coldness and demands that he follow her. Then she sends him a letter inviting him to her dreams. What will his response be? How does sex control our other faculties and how can he help us to do the same with him? —
