The Devil All the Time
The Devil All the Time is set in the rural areas of West Virginia and Ohio. It follows the adventures of a group of bizarre and compelling characters, from the 60s to the end of World War II. Willard Russell is a tortured veteran of South Pacific carnage who cannot save Charlotte from certain death due to cancer, no matter how many sacrificial sacrifices he makes on his “prayer journal.” Carl and Sandy Henderson are a married couple of serial killers who stalk America’s roads looking for models they can photograph and kill. There’s the spider-handling preacher Roy and his crippled virtuoso-guitar-playing sidekick, Theodore, running from the law. Arvin Eugene Russell is Willard’s and Charlotte’s adopted son. He grows up to become a violent but good man.
