The Dawn Wall
American rock climbers Tommy Caldwell, and Kevin Jorgeson captured the attention of the entire world in January 2015 when they attempted to scale the Dawn Wall (a 3,000-foot rock face) located in Yosemite National Park. They stayed on that sheer vertical cliff for several weeks and drew a lot of media attention. Tommy Caldwell saw the Dawn Wall as more than a climb. This was the culmination a life lived by conquering obstacles. The Kyrgyz rebels took the climbing prodigy hostage at the tender age of 22. He lost his index finger shortly after that, in an accident. But he resolved to make it back stronger. He escaped his pain and focused on the amazing goal of climbing free the Dawn Wall, even though his marriage was broken. Caldwell spent six years planning and practising his route with Jorgeson, blurring the lines between obsession and dedication. Caldwell faces a moment in truth on the last attempt. Caldwell must decide whether to abandon his girlfriend in pursuit of his dream or sacrifice his friendship for his success.
