The Convent

A young girl named Persephone is falsely accused and arrested in early seventeenth-century. She was then put on trial. Persephone’s fate looks sealed except for the prompt intervention of the Reverend Mother. She offers Persephone sanctuary and hope. The Reverend Mother, who is self-appointed as the leader of a tiny religious retreat in a remote Priory where Sisters can dedicate their lives to God and seek forgiveness for past sins, serves Persephone well. Persephone arrives in Persephone’s place and is soon plagued by terrifying visions. She quickly realizes it’s not Salvation she seeks, but the battle for her soul. Paul Hyett
