The Circus
He finds himself in a circus and is quickly chased by police, who believe he’s a pickpocket. With his hilarious attempts to escape the police, the Tramp is an accident sensation. He is immediately hired by the circus owner, who discovers the Tramp can’t be funny. So he makes the Tramp a janitor, just in case he happens to be at the Bigtop during showtime. The Tramp is unaware of the exploitation and falls in love with the circus owner’s beautiful, acrobatic stepdaughter. She is also abused by her dad. Charlie is determined to win, but his chances of success are not good enough. –Kenneth Chisholm
