The Chinese Widow

The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in the 1940s destroyed Americans’ morale. Franklin D. Roosevelt was the president of the United States and he decided to take on the risk to bomb Tokyo. This raised hopes. The B25 plane, piloted by Jimmy Doolittle (U.S lieutenant colonel), departed the USS Hornet aircraft carrier in record time, even though it was in extremely stormy waters. The crew and pilot had to abandon ship after completing the mission. Jack Turner was a young pilot. Ying, a local widow, saved him by hiding the wounded pilot inside her home and helping him escape. They fell in love despite not being able communicate verbally. During the escape, she gave her life to him. Her daughter was saved by him and she was safely returned to the USA.
