The Challenger

It was one of the most dramatic events in American spaceflight history when Challenger crashed into the ground just 73 seconds after it had taken off on January 28, 1986. The President convened a Presidential Commission to investigate what went wrong. However, due to the complexity of Challenger and the many interests that were involved, it was almost impossible for the Commission’s findings. Richard Feynman was a truly independent member to the investigation. He was one of the greatest scientists his age and worked on the Manhattan Project, which created the first atom bomb. In addition to his quantum physics breakthroughs, the Nobel Prize went to Richard Feynman. Feynman displayed exceptional integrity and charm to uncover the mysteries of the Shuttle accident and made the US Space Programme more secure. –Anonymous
