Tales from the Crypt

The tour is taken by five people who stumble upon the catacomb. They get lost and find themselves trapped. The Crypt Keeper, Sir Ralph Richardson, takes them to the catacomb. He then asks each of them to explain why they are there. (1) All Through the House: On Christmas Eve Joanne Clayton (Dame Joan Collins), kills Martin Boddey in order to get his insurance. The police have a fugitive homicidal manic posing to be Santa, she hears. She is unable to phone the Police when the man knocks at her door. Instead, she receives a surprise Christmas present. (2) Reflection on Death: Carl Maitland, (Ian Hendry), leaves Susan Denny (his wife) and his children to his mistress. But something happens along his trip. (3) Poetic Justice. Arthur Edward Grimsdyke, a widowed janitor (Peter Cushing), is a kind man who enjoys spending his free time with the kids in the area. Grimsdyke commits suicide because his neighbor, a heartless man, doesn’t like him. Grimsdyke arose from his grave year later seeking revenge. (4) Wish You Were There: Ralph Jason, a dirty businessman (Richard Greene), is insolvent and Charles Gregory, his friend and lawyer (Roy Dotrice), advises him to sell his property. Enid Murray, his wife, recalls that they had a statue with legends. It will grant the owner three wishes. Ralph is led to eternal damnation when Enid (Barbara Murray) makes his wishes. Blind Alleys: Major Rogers, a cruel man (Nigel Patrick), arrives at the Elmridge home of the blind with his dog to become the new director. He torturizes interns till they are vengeful.
